WhatsApp may be the most popular instant messaging service in the world, but Telegram is certainly the most innovative. When WhatsApp was launched in 2009, it shook up the entire communications industry by becoming the messaging app for most smartphone owners. While WhatsApp’s inception allowed the company to capture most of the market share, the company hasn’t been able to innovate much since it was acquired by Facebook in 2016. It’s not that the company has stopped innovating altogether. Recently, WhatsApp has introduced many new features including private reply in groups, picture-in-picture mode, WhatsApp Business and restricted group among others.
It’s just that WhatsApp has been overtaken by companies like Telegram. In the previous year, Telegram introduced a number of exciting new features, including Telegram Bots, the ability to play games within the app itself, and much more. It was recently leaked that the company may be considering launching its own blockchain and cryptocurrency platform which, if true, will change the entire messaging industry. While the launch of the blockchain and cryptocurrency platform is still a rumor, the company has released a new update (v4.7) that brings a ton of features requested by users. My favorite of all is the new multi-account feature, which allows users to run multiple accounts from a single Telegram app. In this article, we will see how we can configure and use the multi-account feature on Telegram:
Set up and use the multi-account feature on Telegram
It is very ingenious of Telegram to release the multi-account feature as something many of us have been waiting for for years. Personally, I like to keep my personal and work contacts separate, and I haven’t really been able to do that due to the limitations of running a single app on a smartphone. I hate carrying two smartphones and was just hoping for a feature like this. If you are also as excited about this feature as I am, here is how you can use the multiple accounts feature in telegram:
- Launch the Telegram app and tap the hamburger menu in the upper left corner. Here, tap the arrow button next to your name.
two. Tap the “Add Account” button. Now, enter your secondary number and hit the checkmark button in the upper right corner.
3. Now wait for the phone to recognize your OTP or enter it manually. on the next page enter your name and hit the checkmark button.
4. To switch between accounts, simply tap the hamburger menu and select the account you want to choose.
It’s that simple. At the moment, Telegram allows you to use three different accounts at once. Additionally, the feature is currently only available for Android devicestherefore iOS users cannot take advantage of this feature now.

Use multiple telegram accounts
Telegram is one of the best instant messaging apps out there. With its end-to-end encryption, amazing group messaging, bot support and many other amazing features, the app has captured the hearts of hundreds of millions of users worldwide. Now that the app also supports multiple accounts, I believe the Telegram adoption rate will skyrocket. Personally, I prefer Telegram to other messaging services and can’t wait to see what the company has planned for the future.
